Precision Fitter

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Precision Fitter to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office on day shift. This role will see you assemble and fit ANCA Machine Tool products and machines to ensure quality and functionality within the required timeframes to meet customer requirements.

This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity and has an hourly rate of $43.46 plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles to the design, specification, and configuration of the machine build.
  • Apply analytical skills in fault finding, decision making related to machine build and resolving of technical matters.
  • Apply production processes within the scope of responsibility and able to perform the work activities, reliably, consistently, and repeatedly.
  • Understand quality and can perform to the required standards.
  • Meet production deadlines set for the machine build.
  • Complete all documentation as part of the duties.
  • Apply metrology to ensure the high precision tolerances are met at all times.
  • Support other operators in the identification and rectification of faults.
  • Contribute to the reviewing, writing and implementation of standard work instructions,
  • Apply 5S principles and support a LEAN environment.
  • Follow all safety requirements to ensure the working environment is safe at all times.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting or Tool making preferred).
  • Recognised trades qualifications and proven experience in high precision fitting and turning.
  • Proven knowledge in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to measure own performance and achieve daily targets.
  • Demonstrated flexible, proactive and “can do’ attitude.
