Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Bayswater Head Office team. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader (Mechatronic Solutions), your primary responsibility will be the electrical systems design of CNC grinding machines and ancillary products, facilitating their integration into smart factory solutions. This role is pivotal in establishing best practice standards for modular and configurable designs in our machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex electrical systems for industrial machinery.
- Participate in project FAT/SAT activities.
- Ensure adherence to electrical design and drawing standards.
- Execute Work Packages within the defined Project Milestones.
- Collaborate with technical leaders to develop best practice standards for electrical design, ECAD implementation, and machine safety.
- Provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Create comprehensive electrical systems documentation, including schematics and test plans.
- Work closely with the mechanical design team throughout the design cycle.
- Contribute to Codesys PLC and safety PLC development for selected projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in electrical systems, with a strong focus on innovative design and problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or related field).
- Registered professional engineer accreditation (or eligibility to apply).
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in EPLAN software tools, including EPLAN Electric P8, Cogineer, and ProPanel.
- Expertise in electrical component selection, cabinet design, 3-phase power distribution, and EMC testing.
- Experience with PLC, servo motor, and controls hardware setup and testing.
- Strong knowledge of machine safety design, risk assessment, and safety PLC programming.
Nice-to-haves include functional safety training and certification, experience in Codesys PLC programming, and familiarity with European CE Directives/Regulations.
