About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Control Systems / Automation Engineer to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office.
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader (NPD) you will be responsible for the control systems design of industrial machinery and integration into our smart factory solution.
This is a key role within the team to participate in control systems integration and develop best practice standards for new PLC development using IEC Standard PLC’s.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy complex systems of systems in automated factory program

Participate in testing and FAT/SAT activities

Preparation and execution of Work Packages as assigned to agreed Project Milestones.

IEC PLC code development and integration.

Technical & Design Reviews and Design Interfaces.

Timely reporting of Project, milestone or task progress, risks, and issues.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
-
Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electrical or electronic engineering or related field

Approx. 5 years’ experience in similar role

High level PLC programming (ST, SFC, SL)

Codesys / Beckhoff TwinCAT or other IEC 61131-3 based PLC programming

Experience with efficient error reporting system design and fault-finding best practise

Sizing, selection, setup and testing of electrical and controls hardware

Industrial machinery design from concept idea to detailed design

Design for machine safety, risk assessment, safety function design, safety calculations, safety PLC programming and validation

Fieldbus networking via EtherCAT, MODBUS, TCP/IP

Machine design for Servo drives, PLC, VFD, and Robots
