About the Role
As a Project Manager in AMT’s Project Management Office, you will oversee the delivery of engineering and new product development projects from concept through to production release. You will coordinate cross‑functional resources, manage schedules, budgets, risks, and stage‑gates, and ensure successful delivery against time, cost, and quality targets. This is a permanent, full‑time position based in Bayswater, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full end‑to‑end project delivery across the entire lifecycle, from requirements and design through to prototype, testing, production release, and project closure.
- Define requirements, scope, business cases, and risks with project stakeholders.
- Plan and manage project schedules, milestones, stage‑gates, and reviews.
- Lead project teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to required quality standards.
- Structure programs into clear projects and work packages aligned to business objectives.
- Coordinate concept development, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Maintain accurate and visible project documentation and reporting.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Promote project management best practice and continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred)
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex engineering product development projects end‑to‑end
- Industry experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, defence, medical, or similar complex electro‑mechanical environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills
- Australian work rights
Preferred Skills
- Project management certification (PMP/PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
- Understanding of procurement, manufacturing, and assembly processes
