Position Overview

The Material Planner is responsible for the planning and control of materials needed for production. This role ensures that materials are available to meet production demand while managing optimal inventory levels. The Material Planner will focus on balancing demand, supply, and inventory to support stable production operations and effective working capital management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP) and review system-generated planning recommendations.
  • Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and demand requirements.
  • Monitor and manage material supply risks, including shortages, delays, and demand changes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure supply commitments align with production plans.
  • Maintain inventory at optimal levels, minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
  • Work closely with production teams to align material availability with production priorities.
  • Communicate material risks and mitigation actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Model ANCA behavior, ensuring the company's Vision, Mission, and Values are upheld.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in material planning and inventory management, particularly in a manufacturing environment. They will demonstrate analytical skills and an ability to interpret planning outputs effectively.

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in material planning, MRP, or production planning.
  • Understanding of inventory management principles and planning parameters.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and respond to changing demand.
