Position Overview

The Senior Material Planner is responsible for leading the material planning and supplier management processes to ensure operational excellence across our global manufacturing sites. This role requires strong decision-making skills, data-driven judgment, and the ability to navigate complex planning scenarios within a dynamic and evolving demand landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the material requirements planning (MRP) across assigned product lines and manufacturing sites.
  • Manage supplier commitments to align with production schedules, ensuring material availability.
  • Balance demand, supply, and inventory to meet delivery in full on time (DIFOT) and working capital objectives.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies and maintain disciplined control of planning parameters.
  • Identify and mitigate material supply risks, escalating issues with actionable recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of material plans with operational goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planners as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in material planning within a manufacturing context, with the ability to manage complex, multi-site supply chains. A high level of analytical and planning skills is essential, along with a proactive approach to risk management and stakeholder engagement.

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in material planning and MRP in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven experience in managing supply risk and responding to demand volatility.
  • Desirable: ERP/MRP system expertise and experience in mentoring or leading teams.

The candidate must demonstrate a high ownership mindset and the capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are vital for success in this role.
