About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing System Engineer to join our team located in our Thailand Head Office.
To design and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Building Management System (BMS), responsible for integration of the factory equipment with this system and design and implementation of additional production automation software as required including manage and Support Projects as per ANCA Business requires and delivery project as the scope, timeline and target.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety
- Ensure the working environment is safe at all times and activities conducted are safe and don't harm self or other employees
- Maintain Safety compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations for safe working practices and functional compliance
- Eliminate risks in the working environment by conducting housekeeping, conducting risk assessments and working the line manager to eliminate or at least mitigate the hazards
- Report incidents such as near miss, accident or equipment damage using the reporting system
System Design Assignments & Delivery
- Analyse user requirements
- Write and test code, refining and rewriting it as necessary and communicate with any programmers involved in the project
- Research, design and write new software programs (e.g. business applications) and computer operating systems
- Evaluate the software and systems that make computers and hardware work
- Develop existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification'
- Integrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together
- Create technical specifications
- Write systems to control the scheduling of jobs or to control the access allowed to users or remote systems
- Write operational documentation with technical authors
- Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
- Consult production concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems, with a view to writing or modifying current operating systems
- Investigate new technologies
- Continually update technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications
Assembly Process Design
- Select appropriate tooling for applications with optimal efficiency and safety in mind
- Design Jigs, Fixtures + Gauging to optimise productivity and meet process requirements
- Develop Manufacturing Process methods with setup + cycle reduction, high quality, reliability and repeatability and safety as priorities.
- Standardise + rationalise all aspects of the manufacturing process across all areas of allocated Work Centres and overseas plants and branches
- Source and procure all required infrastructure, tooling, fixturing, gauging and equipment where required
- Follow the Anca Production System (APS) standards to ensure that the work centre layouts and material flows maximise the potential for production efficiency
Production Engineering
- Operate as a primary source of contact with other organisational departments with regards to technical electrical and mechanical assembly related queries.
- Work with Design Engineers to clarify + optimise design intent to ensure all manufacturing requirements are met for all New Product + Process Introduction
- Design and implement processes using Lean principles to in line with the Anca Production System (APS) philosophies, Values Stream Maps, Flow Layouts + Design Projects
- Use quality management tools or root cause analysis to identify and eliminate quality issues to progress towards a “Right First Time” manufacturing and assembly process
- Work closely with the tooling, fixturing + gauging suppliers to optimise quality, delivery, and cost
- Use resources efficiently to provide high standard of product delivery
- Ensure that the Change Management Process is strictly followed to ensure process and revision changes are correctly managed and delivered as per the effectivity dates
- Manage and monitoring Production information MES routing capture and making sure that data review and feedback if any improvement needs.
- Manage and control Manufacturing Cost Expense with team and consult with ME Manager.
Data Management
- Review and update manufacturing process documentation
- Update manufacturing process recording documentation and systems
- Approve purchase of tooling + fixturing expense and document accordingly
- Using the appropriate task planning and monitoring tools, assign work tasks to individual manufacturing engineers, follow up and provide progress reports as required.
- Provide detailed costing information on manufacturing processes using the appropriate tools
- Approve and release DFM/DFA workflows within the PLM system
- Prepare necessary supporting documentation for production staff, to aid manufacture, assembly, and inspection throughout the product life cycle
- Precisely manage the Manufacturing Engineering database(s) to prevent & eliminate errors
- Manage and control or Communicate the data information through production such as SOP version, Schematic version run in or out and software version.
MRP and ERP Systems
- Create and control routes in MRP system on a timely basis.
- Review and feedback for Manufacturing Bills of Materials in MRP system to Engineering or relevant process.
- Create policies and communicate MRP related information to internal stake holders
- Ensure high level of data integrity is maintained to improve the accuracy of information
- Manage and communication the change from Manufacturing to the relevant department.
Continuous Improvement and Project Managing
- Project manage continuous improvement activities from feasibility to implementation, to achieve departmental budgets
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis on all continuous improvement projects to aid justification in departmental objectives
Initiate improvement projects based on data analysis and extensive research.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
- 1-5 years experience in Software Engineering.
- Demonstrated skill in programming:
- C# (WPF)
- Python
- Experience in Factory Automation Software (MES or SCADA) such as Inductive Automation Ignition would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Web APIs (REST, RESTful, SOAP) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of industrial networking (OPC-UA, Mod-Bus, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Proven skills in Microsoft Office applications to a medium level particularly MS Excel.
- Good level of English Communication. (Spoken and written)
- Demonstrated analytical competency in decision making and issue resolution.
- Demonstrate a practical application of data collection and analysis.
- Demonstrate a flexible and “can do” attitude.
- Able to work on agreed initiatives with minimal support.
- Demonstrate and maintain a high attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel abroad as required.
- Able to meet tasks plan and organise work priorities.
