About the Role:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader/Manager – Software to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Reporting through to the New Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Software design and development of our high-quality products.

Using your previous experience and sound engineering judgement, you will implement and support engineering functions that provide technical direction to achieve innovative ideas and design engineering KPI’s. Working within a highly skilled team, you will create a collaborative, cohesive and supportive environment for design engineering personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation and customer service across the Engineering disciplines and portfolios.
  • Manage the performance of the team and individual team members through team construction, talent development, coaching and mentoring.
  • Identify and recruit new talent uncompromisingly to continually increase the talent density of the team and department.
  • Assist Technical Management in technical direction of the Software Engineering discipline by documenting best practice engineering methodology for re-use and training.
  • Actively promote and reinforce divisional business strategy and departmental initiatives, driving alignment, engagement, and execution.
  • Conduct peer/design reviews to ensure time to market of high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate and promote Engineering values and behaviours as an example for the team. 

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven technical competence in a Software engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated comprehension of technical/engineering and design principles, and relevant technologies and their application to machine tool design.
  • Critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to manage oneself, manage others and manage a team of single or multi-disciplined Engineers.
  • Proven ability to autonomously manage small to medium projects, prioritizing tasks and delivering within agreed time frame.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders/suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication that enables guidance and mentoring.
  • Practical application of data collection and analysis for scientific decision making.
